Golden Heart Key

This key of gold is embellished with a heart. The heart is a world wide symbol of love and gold, a precious mineral. Gold has been highly prized and valued since prehistoric times. Therefore, to give a "key to my heart" made of gold to the beloved signifies the giving of a gift of great value. And the heart can be opened by the gift of this key. Today's wedding rings are traditionally made of gold; since it is long-lasting and unaffected by the passage of time, it is considered a suitable material for everyday wear as well as a metaphor for the relationship.
