Winter Wedding Programs

Celebrate a winter wedding with seasonal touches for your wedding programs.

Wedding programs are an excellent way for a bridal couple to communicate the symbolic elements of a wedding to their guests as well as thank the participants for helping to create such a meaningful ceremony. Design winter wedding programs which mirror the best of the sparkling winter season by adding special graphics, images and embellishments.

Websites offer bridal couples the chance to create their own programs in any style or design they choose. Pick images which support your theme, add winter detailing and create an overall design which is completely your own. Wording templates help you keep your phrasing on track and helpful articles can guide you through the simple process. By choosing to do it yourself, you can easily use your theme as the anchor point for your winter wedding programs. Center a snowflake on the front of your program and choose lacy fonts for your names and the wedding date. Or offer a hint of the holidays with an artistic Christmas tree centered on the bottom or top of your program.

A traditional program, with elegant lettering and classic wording, can get a winter makeover with the addition of pine cone art for a lodge look or holly sprigs to denote a holiday wedding. Separate the different events of your wedding with winter themed ribbon or colorful snowflakes . Borders of falling hearts can edge your program for a Valentine's Day theme. Background art, such as falling snowflakes can add a touch of winter to your entire program and leave the detailed images open for your theme. Play around with all the different art until you have created your own masterpiece.

Add Winter Details

Adding sparkling glitters or simple charms can give any wedding program a frosty touch. Snowflake charms can be found at Goody Beads, as well as mittens, penguins and angels. Feathers and faux fur add classic winter detail, especially when paired with gold accents or Victorian scroll work. Simple ribbons, in the rich colors which celebrate winter can be woven through programs or glued in small bows on the front and back cover. Roll your programs and tie them up with icy white ribbon and a jingle bell. Silver accents, such as ribbons, faux leather or beads add elegance to winter wedding programs of any style.

Papers, Inks and Graphics

Mimic piles of new fallen snow by adding white details to a white program. For example, add ivory snowflakes to white background paper and then wrap your programs in white ribbon or raffia. Or stack cream accents on heavy linen papers to contrast with winter blue wording and graphics. Papers are available in a broad range of winter scenes to add the seasonal detail you need. Scrap book and stationary stores have racks of papers in various weights and designs to allow a bride and groom to highlight the parts of winter that best fits their program. Grab a selection of papers in different weights and backgrounds to test your wedding program design.

If you spend some time trying different looks and designs for your winter wedding programs you will be able to create something which both you and the groom find beautiful. A simple ink color change or switch from flecked paper to linen can dramatically alter the appearance of a program. Get creative with this part of your wedding stationary and add the touches which say winter to you. Dancing penguins or falling snowflakes, the choice is entirely up to you and your groom.
