Potluck wedding menu cards are the perfect place to get your guests involved in your reception in a personal and meaningful way and to thank everyone for their contribution. Here are some possible ways to offer menu cards for your potluck reception.

Offer incoming guests a table with cardstock, glitter, glue, pens and scissors to create their own menu cards. As they arrive with their dishes, ask them to create a "name tag" for their contribution listing the dish and the maker. Highlight special ingredients, vegetarian offerings or traditional recipes. Guests can add special wishes for the bridal couple and kids will have a ball adding glitter or faux jewels with glue sticks. To make this idea simpler, offer menu cards for guests to label their dishes and then offer the bridal couple a special wish or blessing from their family.

General Menu Cards

Design menu cards for each part of your long table or on individual tables to sort the different parts of your dinner. Add wedding-themed art such as angels or roses to full sheets of paper with main course, salad or dessert designations. Assign each area of a table as main courses, meatless dishes, salads and desserts. Attach these mini banners to theme-inspired holders to keep the variety of baking dishes and kitchen wear following your theme. For example, hang china platters in plate holders along the wall or in the center of food tables. For your summer, county wedding choose summer marigold clip art, available from WeddingDNA, to highlight each food group. Attach these general menu cards to the platters where all your guests can see them. Place small folded cards with the same detailing on each table for guests to label their dishes with the name of the cook and her dish. Or use different summer flowers, such as yellow dahlias and the wild roses on card stock for guests to create a for a personal menu card.

Recipe menu cards

Create blank menu cards and include these with your wedding invitations. Your wedding invitation clipart is easily added to the recipe cards for a stylish and contemporary look. Guests can fill out their cards and offer the new couple a personalized stock of family favorites to start their new life. Have guests respond on the RSVP cards with their contribution and then place the recipe card in front of their dish on the big day. Special family memories can be written on the back.

When creating your potluck wedding menu card, look at bridal magazines, clip art sites, and home and garden vendors for ideas. With such a variety of guests bringing their best creations to celebrate your wedding, allow your creativity to run a little wild here. You want each contribution to be acknowledged and your guests will appreciate the honor of being recognized.
