Wedding Favor Ideas

Wedding favor ideas to say 'Thank You' to your guests.

wedding favor presents
Wedding favors provide an opportunity for you to say thank you to your guests, and treat them to a little something special to take home and remember your wedding. There are many wedding favor ideas, from purely decorative to functional to homemade wedding favor ideas and craft gifts.

Wedding stores, craft stores and party favor stores offer a selection of favors, but you'll often find the best selection and prices by shopping around online. Here are a few wedding favor ideas to get you started.

Are you having a spring or summer wedding? Send your guests home with a seed packet full of wildflowers to plant. One online party-favor store sells a decorative packet with a bouquet printed on each, and tied with a ribbon. A label is attached to the favor that can be customized with the name of the bride and groom, and the wedding date. Planting instructions are also on the label.

Wine charms are a popular way to make any occasion festive. These are charms that hang around the stem of a wine glass, and come in many shapes that could work for wedding favors such as hearts, daisies and butterflies. Send your guests home with a set of four or sex, in a decorative sachet tied with a ribbon.

Another wine-themed wedding favor idea is a decorative wine bottle stopper, for use in keeping wine corked after it's been opened. For wedding favors, a heart-shaped stopper works well. If your budget allows, you could even have each one engraved with the name of the bride and groom and the date of the wedding.

If you're having a sit down dinner, display menus or place cards in picture frames, which the guests take home with them as a favor. You can also display place cards with a place card holder, which usually has a weight with a wire stem and decoration on top. Your guests can take them home to display a photo or note.

If you choose to make your favors yourself, you also have a variety of homemade wedding favor idea options. Bath salts, soaps, candy and dried lavender can be tied in sachets or tulle, and accented with a ribbon that matches your wedding colors.

One popular homemade wedding favor idea is handmade "roses" made with Hershey's kisses. The process involves using two kisses, bottoms together, as the rose bud. Then, colored cellophane is wrapped around the kisses to hold them together. Next, green florist's tape is used to seal the cellophane. Florists wire is cut 3-4 inches long to act as the stem, and attached to the "bud" with florist's tape. The entire stem is wrapped with florist's tape, and silk leaves can be attached, but are optional. The final step is to attach a tag with the bride and groom's names, and the date of the wedding. Tie the tag to the flower with ribbon that matches the cellophane.

Whatever direction you go with your wedding favor ideas, make sure they reflect your personality and the mood of your wedding.
