There is a magic about winter weddings. Perhaps it is the promise of a first snowfall or the holiday cheer present throughout wintertime. Winter weddings bring an abundance of frosty decorations and cool magic. Winter wedding favors are especially fun, because there is such a diversity of personal expression and possibility to warm the hearts of your guests.

Nothing says winter like snow globes. We never seem to tire of shaking them and experiencing the magic of a first snowfall. Snow globes are beautiful, they are classics, and they are often quite affordable. One can choose a basic winter scene to share with wedding guests. Photo snow globes offer even more in the way of a fun winter wedding favor, as they can be personalized with an actual photo of the bride and groom or with varied messages for guests. You can even use them to house place cards. Guests can always replace the pictures or cards with their own memories at a later time, if they desire.

Who doesn't love a warm winter drink? Why not enjoy those winter beverages with personalized mugs for each guest? Filled with packets of cider or hot chocolate, they make lovely additions to any kitchen. Mugs can be simple or ornate, personalized or tastefully decorated with a winter image or color. For a more adult beverage, consider miniature bottles of peppermint schnapps or another delectable holiday liqueur.

Winter is filled with confectionaries and holiday treats, and winter wedding favors of an edible nature are always appreciated! Some classic winter delectables may include:
  • Chocolate dipped mint lollipops
  • Gingerbread houses
  • Cookie cutters with special winter cookie recipe attached
  • Snowflake tin filled with candied nuts
  • Cakes in a jar (all the ingredients come layered in a jar for easy baking)
  • White candy wedding conversation hearts
  • Miniature bottles of sparkling cider
  • White chocolate snowflakes
  • Chocolate snowmen

  • Winter is a time filled with celebrations. Let your favors reflect the joy of Christmas, Chanukah or Kwanzaa. Holiday CDs make lovely winter wedding favors, and whether you choose a specific holiday or produce a medley of music from various holidays, your guests will have a lovely keepsake to enjoy for years to come. You can personalize your CD jewel case with a picture or just with the names of the bride and groom, date of the wedding, and a simple thank you statement to your friends and family.

Scarves make unique and useful winter wedding favors. Depending upon the size of your affair, you may not want to knit them all yourself, but the newer fuzzier scarves are trendy and quite affordable, especially when purchased in bulk. Simply drape a scarf over the back of each chair and within minutes your guests are sure to be merrily wearing their colorful gifts!

Presentation is important when considering wedding favors. Gifts can be wrapped in white paper and tied with little decorative snowflakes for effect. Or consider using holiday paper or even small holiday beads to tie into ribbons. With a little bit of planning, your winter wedding favors will be sure to capture the magic of the season while simultaneously spreading your special wedding cheer.
