Summer is the most popular season for weddings. It's no wonder, with flowers in full-bloom, long days, rich sunsets and warm weather, it's impossible not to celebrate love. Summer wedding colors are a fresh representation of all the season has to offer, and an intimate piece of your summer wedding theme decorating puzzle.

When brainstorming your wedding color scheme, think bright hues for summer wedding colors. Take advantage of the colors blooming during this season: yellows, purples, bright pinks and deep, bright blues.

Pastel colors, although more readily seen in spring, can add delicate touches to a summer wedding theme. They might not be as popular for summer wedding bridesmaid dresses, but couples often use pastel colors for summer wedding invitations and other subtle accents.

Think summer, and many people think of the sun. Yellow and gold can be paired with oranges and white for a beautiful, fresh look.

Gold pairs beautifully with lavender for a bright, cheery scheme. Add magenta to this combination to really brighten up the occasion. If you choose this color combination and you have several bridesmaids, you might decide to have them wear different colored dresses in your color scheme. The same idea might be carried through in programs or dinner menus: one might be printed on lavender paper with a magenta ribbon, the next on gold paper with a lavender ribbon, and so on.

Teal is another color that can bring out the best in a summer wedding. Pair it with silver and white for a cool, refreshing color scheme. Tulips and other flowers can be died teal to match dresses and other decorations.

Red and pink combine well, too. Of course, roses come to mind when using this color palette. Use all shades of both colors and romance will bloom everywhere. Add to this color pattern other elements of romance: heart-shaped chocolates, strands of small white lights, harp and flute music, programs covered with a sheer top overlay, and lots of candles.

Navy blue is another popular summer wedding color. You won't want to introduce too many other colors if using navy, though. Keep it to accents of white and green, as in foliage-green. These hues work well with classic, elegant weddings.

Whichever color scheme you choose for your summer wedding theme - as with any season - make sure your colors compliment those of the decor at the church or reception hall you've chosen.

Stick to your color scheme, and when the sun sets on your special day, you can sit back, relax and enjoy the warm vibes that have been created with your summer wedding color palatte.
