Don't let your bubble be burst by making bad decisions when it comes to renting your limo. By following a few bits of advice, you can ensure your limo rental is exactly what you hoped it would be.
Things to Consider
Price: Don't let price be your determining factor. If you decide based on the lowest price alone, you may be severely disappointed (the driver could be late or the car could be lower quality than you expected). A typical wedding rental package runs from $250 to $500 for three hours of service depending on the level of service and type of limo you want (a white stretch limo, a stretch Hummer or a party bus, say). Ask if gratuity is included; if not, make sure to budget in a tip -- about 20 percent is the norm -- for the driver. The Driver: Find out everything you can about the person who will be driving you on your special day. What will they be wearing? Will they be in formal wear or jeans and a polo T-shirt? Has the driver passed a background check? Has he or she been drug tested? You don't want to put your lives at risk on your wedding day, and you don't want your driver looking like a slob.
The Contract: Get all the details in advance and get them in writing. This should include the number of hours for which you are renting the vehicle, the style of car, pick-up and drop-off locations, any potential extra charges and the cancellation policy. Also ask for proof of insurance.
