Bed and Breakfasts and Inns
Looking for a special venue for your wedding? Start your new life together at a bed and breakfast. Most B&B and inns host weddings of all sizes. The majority of B&Bs already have beautiful decorations in place, both indoors and out. They also often provide excellent catering, and lodging for your out-of-town guests. One disadvantage to B&B weddings is that your guest list cannot be very big. In the Austin/Drippings Springs area, try The Inn at Wild Rose Hall, a classic, Texas ranch-style inn surrounded by six acres of majestic oak trees and lawns. Stay the weekend and allow yourself time to relax before and after the ceremony. In the Livingston area, try the McCardell Cottage Bed & Breakfast, one of the most historic B&Bs in Texas. In San Antonio, think about The Inn at Craig Place, and in Seabrook, there's Beacon Hill Bed & Breakfast.

Outdoors
Texas landscapes can't be beat, and with the size of Texas and its variety of outdoor locations (beaches, lakes, rivers, parks, mountains--the list goes on!), brides and grooms have plenty of natural beauty to choose from. Wedding photos taken outdoors in a beautiful setting with natural lighting are a huge advantage to having an outdoor ceremony and reception -- who wouldn't want a waterfall, lake, or breathtaking mountain in the background? The Angel Springs Event Center offers a secluded hill country location in the Austin area with a tree-shaded back lawn -- perfect for your outdoor ceremony. Step inside the spacious ballroom for an elegant reception. Try the Ruby Ranch Lodge in Buda and exchange your vows near the outdoor waterfall or under the majestic oaks lit by twinkle lights. The Red Corral Ranch in Wimberley is a 1,100-acre natural sanctuary with an outdoor walking labyrinth and a big red barn for rehearsal dinners. Also in Wimberley, Old Glory Ranch features an outdoor covered pavilion and a wooden deck on the banks of the Blanco River for large outdoor ceremonies and a stone landing on the Blanco River for smaller ceremonies. At Canyon of the Eagles on Lake Buchanan, hold your ceremony on a stone patio on a bluff with a 270-degree view of the lake, then dance the night away under the stars with a roaring fire in the stone fireplace.
Historic Victorians and Mansions
Want a ceremony site with a little history? Try one of the historic Victorian homes, mansions or ranch homes Texas has to offer. The Allan House in downtown Austin offers lovely parlors, wide verandas and an idyllic courtyard. Barr Mansion, also in Austin, is romantic Victorian home, featuring lush gardens and a ballroom brimming with old-world elegance. Built in the 1920s, the Guadalupe River Ranch in Boerne was the former home of actress Olivia de Havilland and overlooks vistas, hammocks stretched between shady trees, well-manicured lawns and beautiful gardens. The Fulton Mansion State Historical Structure is an ornate, four-story house in Rockport-Fulton, originally completed in 1877 and featuring classic French Second Empire architectural styling. In the Ben Wheeler area, try the historic Roseland Plantation and its wedding chapel, originally part of a 3,300-acre cotton plantation established in 1852. Or think about Heather's Glen, an elegantly restored historical mansion and Conroe's premier wedding and reception facility.
Though not a historic mansion, Little Chapel-in-the-Woods blends nature and art in a wooded setting on Texas Woman's University campus and features 10 stained glass windows. Although constructed for private meditation, the chapel is now the setting for many weddings in the community.
Resorts and Hotels
