Ohio Wedding Ceremony Sites

Whether you have always pictured a down-home country wedding or a ceremony in the city, Ohio has the site for your special day.

Diverse wedding ceremony sites are no problem to locate for the couple getting hitched in the Buckeye State. That's because Ohio has a little bit of everything for the couple who is set to say "I do." From country-style nuptials to a ceremony in the midst of a bustling city, a bride- and groom-to-be can plan the big day of their dreams.

Choosing the Site that Fits Your Style

When getting married in Ohio, a couple needs to first decide on the setting they are seeking. Because of Ohio's widespread options the best question to first ask is, "Do we want a quiet, country wedding or a ceremony that takes place at the heart of the city?" Once you have pinpointed your ideal setting, you are set to take a peek at a few of Ohio's best sites.

A Little Bit Country . . .

Walden (Aurora, OH)
Looking for the country within the city? If so, this locale may be just the right fit for city folks looking for a more serene setting for their big day. Located just outside of Cleveland, Ohio, Walden offers an idyllic landscape for an outdoor wedding on the garden lawn. The bonus is that the special couple and their guests can visit the on-site spa for a bit of primping and pampering before the main event.

Mt. Airy Forest and Arboretum (Cincinnati, OH)
Talk about a rustic wedding! A prime outdoor locale for a woodsy couple, ceremonies can take place in a gazebo along Meyer Lake amid more than 5,000 plants and a variety of trees. Guests should keep their eyes peeled for the Virginia whitetail deer that has made its home in the forest. Ceremonies can also take place in the Vasey Garden patio that sits atop a hill with a fabulous view.

A Georgian Manner (Logan, OH)
Modeled after the Southern plantations often seen in Georgia and South Carolina, this romantic locale specializes in outdoor weddings set alongside Lake Logan in the core of the Hocking Hills. Take advantage of the lakeside wedding chapel, featuring a pavilion that can sit about 125 guests. For a more intimate ceremony of about 30 people, consider taking it indoors to the Grecian or French Music rooms where you can still have a view of the lake.

Vinoklet Winery (Cincinnati, OH)
Picture your special day taking place in the rolling hills of this winery, a landscape of beautiful acres of grapevines and hills that can be viewed by all of your guests from the expansive outdoor gazebo. The bride- and groom-to-be can also get a taste of the winery with a ceremony in the Veritas Room.

. . . And a Little Bit Rock & Roll, in the City

237 Space Galleries (Toledo, OH)
For the funky artistic couple, this gallery is the ideal space. Complete with artwork-lined brick walls and hand blown light fixtures straight from Murano, Italy, this art gallery is perfect for a pair looking to coordinate a unique ceremony.

Spring Grove Cemetery (Cincinnati, OH)
A cemetery may seem like the last place to consider for such a happy occasion, but try to look past the name. The Norman Chapel at Spring Grove Cemetery was built from limestone and sandstone in 1880. Adorned with outstanding stained glass windows, the chapel can seat up to 200 guests. Smaller ceremonies can be accommodated at the Lakeside Chapel, which can seat up to 25 people alongside the Willow Lake. With a less than $600 rental price tag, the Garden Courtyard is another option for the couple on a budget.

Franklin Park Conservatory (Columbus, OH)
The bride and groom looking to bring a little plant life into their ceremony should check out these botanical gardens. The tropical Palm House is a gorgeous glass greenhouse, complemented by exotic plants and Victorian architecture. Couples can also take the ceremony outdoors to the West Terrace which is set in the midst of Franklin Park's award-winning gardens.

The Dayton Art Institute (Dayton, OH)
Another option for the cultural couple, the Institute has a variety of romantic options available for wedding ceremonies. Take a peek at the Gothic Cloister for a sit-down dinner of about 250 people or the Italian Cloister, a fantastic outdoor option for smaller weddings of about 125 guests.

Your Special Day in the Buckeye State

Wherever you choose to have your ceremony, Ohio will be a prime spot for your big day! When considering sites, be sure to take a trip to visit the locale in question and imagine your ceremony taking place there. The most important factor is that the site and staff can suit a couple's needs to make their day a unique one. And, as always, come with questions in hand!
