New York Wedding Reception Sites

Plan a New York wedding reception that will have your guests talking for ages!

From gala balls in Manhattan to rustic mountain celebrations in the Adirondacks, New York offers couples a huge variety of options when planning the wedding reception they've always dreamed about.

Planning a New York City Wedding Reception

Worried you may have to rule out a New York City wedding, for fear that the costs will be too prohibitive? Don't give up just yet! Even in a city like New York, there are tricks to planning a wedding reception that will allow you to get married in the City That Never Sleeps -- without breaking the bank!

When researching venues, consider the time of day and day of the week that you will be planning your wedding. Inquire about discounts offered if you plan your reception on a Friday evening, or a Sunday afternoon. If you have your heart set on a Saturday night celebration, aim for a wedding in the colder months, when "high wedding season" will not affect a venue's prices.

While NYC features a slew of charming art galleries and avant-garde locales in which to host your dream reception, it's important to keep in mind that locations which require outside catering (forcing you to rent everything from glassware to chairs) will average a higher per person cost than a traditional restaurant. Seek out a restaurant with a private party room that can provide you with all the items that a caterer would need to rent separately.

Moran's Chelsea is the ideal choice for couples looking for the elegance of a real Manhattan wedding at reasonable prices. Moran's old-world oak bar and private ballroom can accommodate more than 100 sit-down guests, and their in-house party planner will help to insure that your entire event goes by without a hitch. Fall and winter weddings are especially beautiful at Moran's, when you can make use of the restaurant's multiple roaring fireplaces. Wedding cakes must be brought in separately.

South Brooklyn's Giando on the Water offers brides and grooms stunning waterfront views of the Manhattan skyline, without charging Manhattan prices. With banquet facilities that can accommodate 50 to 250 guests, Giando only hosts one wedding per day, and prepares all food fresh to order. Packages are all-inclusive and include wedding cake.

New York State and Upstate New York Wedding Reception Sites

Westchester County's Hammond Museum and Japanese Strolling Garden provides an idyllic backdrop for your New York State wedding celebration. Ceremonies are held by the beautiful Japanese koi pond and cocktail hours and receptions are conducted on the outdoor covered patio or inside the museum galleries. Catering is provided by Silk Garden Caterers, which can work to accommodate a variety of budgets.

Couples in the Adirondacks can celebrate their reception surrounded by lush pines and the 35-acre pristine Echo Lake at The Lodge on Echo Lake. With a variety of packages that will suit a number of budgets, The Lodge offers complimentary accommodations for the wedding couple, and can arrange for special extras like ice sculptures, waterfront fireworks and midnight bonfires.
