New York Wedding Programs

A well-crafted wedding program insures that you and your guests are on the same page!

Whether your New York City wedding is an elaborate affair, a funky art-gallery soiree or a nautical cruise around Manhattan, look for fonts, clip art and stationery that adequately reflect the mood and style of your unique celebration. Consider decorating your programs with images of the renowned New York City skyline, the marquee of a Broadway theater or a retro design depicting the New York of a bygone era.

Don't underestimate the effect of quality stationery when crafting your New York wedding programs. New York City is home to some of the finest stationers in the world, like Joon New York, Dempsey and Carroll and the world-famous Cartier.

New York State and Upstate New York Wedding Programs

Getting hitched in the beautiful Adirondacks? A perfect design for your program would be a mountain or forest theme. Niagara Falls brides may select designs that incorporate waterfalls, and couples taking advantage of New York's glorious autumn weather can create a wedding program which features the colors of the season.

Creating the Perfect Wedding Program

Traditional wedding programs include the names of the bride and groom, the location and date of the ceremony, as well as the names of anyone else participating in the ceremony, like the officiant, parents, wedding party, flower girl and ring bearers. Musicians and singers may also be mentioned, as well as the names of the pieces they will be performing. The program will describe the sequence of events for the ceremony, and may even direct guests as to where and when they are invited to arrive for a cocktail hour and reception. Some couples may choose to include photographs, and personal stories or anecdotes. For a religious service, the program may contain reference to specific scripture or verse, lyrics to hymns, the names of designated readers and instructions for guests who may not be familiar with the particular customs of the religious ceremony.

If you are planning a wedding weekend that includes a number of activities, like a rehearsal dinner and wedding brunch, you may consider providing your guests with a wedding program for the entire weekend, which contains all the information your guests will need to know where they are invited to attend, and the times and locations of your planned festivities. Programs can be provided to guests when they check into your selected hotel, or mailed to guests beforehand.
