People to Invite
Your dinner can be as large or intimate as you wish it to be, and as your budget plan allows. For both destination and local Florida weddings, inviting your parents (or a special aunt or uncle) is a must, as is asking your future parents-in-law. The wedding party is next, including the maid of honor, best man, ushers and bridesmaids. It's probably best to keep it to this select group, as hurt feelings could result from choosing a few non-wedding party members but leaving the rest of the invitees out. Remember that everyone you've invited to your Florida wedding will soon be invited to the biggest celebration dinner of all: the wedding reception meal. The rehearsal get-together is specifically to celebrate the successful planning of your wedding among those in the wedding party.
Places to Go
Nearly every area of the Sunshine State has great eating choices, so you'll find looking for a restaurant easy. It's best to have a bite or two at the restaurant before inviting others there so you can sample the food and atmosphere. If this isn't possible, ask friends who have visited Florida for recommendations, or try a few of the following:- Bahama Breeze, Orlando.
- Kobe Japanese Steakhouse, various locations.
- Sergio's Miami; four locations.
- Café Tu Tu Tango, Miami.
When to Hold your Wedding Rehearsal Dinner
The wedding rehearsal dinner is usually held the night before the wedding, but can take place any day the week before the wedding, depending upon your circumstances. If you're having a Florida destination wedding, the timing is especially critical; be sure to advise your guests well in advance of your dinner, wedding and reception itinerary so they can make plans. So sit down, relax, and take a breather with the ones you love best as a prelude to your very special day!
