Limousines: The Key to an Elegant or Casual Colorado Wedding is Arriving in Style

After hectic months of planning and preparing for your Colorado wedding, you deserve to sit back and leave the driving to a tuxedoed chauffeur. Whether you choose a classic Bentley, an ultra-modern stretch SUV or a horse drawn carriage, here are some things to consider when choosing a limousine service.

Cost

What is the cost per hour? Is there a price break if you rent for the whole day? Wouldn't it be great to be picked up in your PJs and chauffeured to the salon for a full beauty treatment on the morning of your wedding? What are the deposit and cleaning charges? Get a quote in writing and ask about any other fees.

Reliability and Reputation

Does the limousine service you are planning to hire have a good record with the Better Business Bureau? Are there any complaints or open cases? Ask friends, who have recently been married, for a referral. If they had it to do over again would they hire the same service? Ask other service providers such as florists, tuxedo rental shops and caterers for a referral (they hear a lot through the grapevine). Also be sure to ask about punctuality and cleanliness.

Class

Plan to inspect one of the cars you will be renting. If possible, take a look at the exact car you will be assigned. Sit inside for a moment and imagine how you will feel arriving and departing from your ceremony in this car. Is it the right fit? Does the style of car suit your wedding's theme and flavor? For example, if you are planning a romantic, black tie event, consider hiring a classic traditional limo or a horse drawn carriage. Or, if your wedding is laid back and fun, maybe a stretch Hummer would be just the thing.

Booking

Book your limo early. During wedding season and at other busy times of the year, such as when conventions are in town, at graduation and the holidays, limousines are often booked months in advance. Plan ahead, but ask about the deposit refund policy if things change.

Alternatives

If cost, location or style prohibit a limousine rental, there are many other possibilities. Do you know someone who owns a beautiful classic car or a gleaming Mercedes? Perhaps they would be willing to play chauffeur for the day. Is there a Harley in the family or does someone keep horses? Plan to roar or gallop off to your honeymoon suite. Leaving your wedding in a spectacular and unique way can add fun to the event and make it even more memorable. Be creative!
