Canada Honeymoon

Adventurous Romance in the Canadian Countryside

winter town
In recent years, Canada has become an increasingly popular honeymoon destination for couples the world over. With an incredible diversity of natural beauty and intriguing multicultural cities, the world's second-largest country is sure to fulfill every newlywed couple's fantasies as they take their first steps into married life.

When thinking about a Canadian honeymoon, the first thing you'll want to do is decide which part of this enormous country you'd like to visit! Are you looking for a thriving, temperate coastal community like Vancouver, in British Columbia? What about a trip to Montreal or Quebec, cities which are often compared to the romantic beauty of Paris? Or, are you looking for a "white honeymoon", deep in the heart of the powerfully majestic Canadian Rockies? No matter which style of romantic getaway suits your fancy, Canada has the spot to fit your honeymoon fantasies.

Vancouver Island
A city of stunning coastal mountains and a spectacular harbor, Vancouver Island is an outstanding choice for a romantic getaway in a balmy (if slightly damp) climate. Stroll the city's verdant parks and white sand beaches, including historic Stanley Park, which boasts an impressive mile-long seawall. If you're looking for incredible restaurants, hip cafés, and elegant boutiques, be sure to check out Robson Street.

The Gastown and Chinatown districts will also provide plenty of colorful distraction in the form of nightlife and cultural opportunities. Additionally, the Island features a "Gourmet Trail" route which encircles the landmass, with stops at fine dining establishments along the way.

The Canadian Rockies
For those who love the powerful, majestic vistas of a mountain landscape, the Canadian Rockies offer many fine choices for accommodations and activities. Places like Banff Springs, the Fairmont Chateau on Lake Louis, and the Jasper Park Lodge offer a first-class hotel experience specifically tailored to honeymoons and romantic adventure. The mountains offer opportunities for:
  • Hiking
  • Mountain climbing
  • Skiing
  • Golfing
  • Hot Springs
  • Many other wonderful outdoor things to see and do!

Additionally, you may find gardens of ice sculpture, skating routes through the center of frozen ice castles, drawn sleigh rides through dazzlingly pristine snowfall, and a number of health and wellness offerings, including massage, mud baths, facials, body wraps, and aromatherapy. With fine dining, shopping, and wine tasting constant possibilities, this part of the Canadian landscape may be just the place for you to curl up next to the fire with your new bride or groom.

Other Places of Interest
There are literally thousands of other beautiful spots throughout the Canadian countryside. Consider a trip to Newfoundland to go iceberg or whale watching, or a journey to the picturesque coastal villages of Nova Scotia. Ontario, home to the nation's greatest vineyards, is a wonderful place to cycle through on a sunny afternoon. Montreal and Quebec are gorgeous metropolitan cities with a decidedly European feel, and offer extensive cultural opportunities for those with a nose for art or history.

And, of course, the Canadian side of Niagra Falls is one of the most picturesque spots in the world - especially in the wintertime, when the mighty falls form brilliantly immense sheets of white ice in the crisp and frosty air.

Whatever portion (or portions!) of Canada you choose to visit for your honeymoon adventure, you can rest assured that your days will be filled with beauty and your nights filled with romance. With so many wonderful places to see and activities in which to take part, a Canadian honeymoon could be the perfect way to begin your married lives together.
