Life in the Bahamas is rich with carefree adventure. Only 50 miles off the coast of Florida, the Bahamas offer a tropical getaway that is diverse and tourist friendly. Covering over 70,000 miles, there are 700 islands that make up the Bahamas. Whether arriving by boat or by plane, a Bahamas honeymoon destination will provide newlyweds with a relaxing and fun atmosphere to shop, sun and explore.

Seafaring sorts arrive by cruise ships with stops including Nassau, Freeport, on the Grand Bahama Island. This is a wonderful way to get a taste of what the Bahamas have to offer, with each day bringing a new port and new opportunities for adventure. If you prefer a more intimate voyage, charter a yacht for your honeymoon and tour the islands at your leisure. These yachts include a captain and a chef, and provide newlyweds with a one of a kind view of the islands.

A honeymoon in the Bahamas can mean days filled with exciting sightseeing tours, snorkeling excursions and shopping in colorful outdoor markets, or a relaxed, fourteen-day nap in a hammock on a secluded beach. It's up to you!

Only a one-hour flight from Miami, Nassau is a frequent destination for honeymooners. The capital city of the Bahamas, Nassau is home to the Paradise Island Resort. This island's crown jewel, the luxury, destination resort has the world's largest aquariums, family-friendly waterslides and more. To experience all the excitement, romance and luxury of the Bahamas, this is the ideal location to call home.

Freeport is the second largest city in the Bahamas. It is a duty-free shopper's paradise! Outdoor bazaars with crafts and goods are a constant draw to the island's many visitors. Colorfully painted buildings, white sand beaches, the beauty of the Caribbean, and the availability of daily flights from the US, make Freeport a favorite destination for many honeymoon couples.

Freeport is located on Grand Bahama Island. This island is 96 miles long and 17 miles wide, and is home to many wonderful parks that offer newlyweds the opportunity to explore all the wonder that nature has to offer. Lucayan National Park is a 40-acre area that is famous for its limestone caves. Two of the caves are open to the public, but if you are afraid of bats, you might skip this venue in favor of The Rand Nature Center, where the only thing that flies is a colony of pink flamingos.

There are countless activities available to visitors to the Bahamas. Some of them include:
  • Sightseeing Tours
  • Deep-sea Fishing
  • Parasailing
  • Sailboat Cruises
  • Swimming with Dolphins or Sharks
  • Scuba Diving
  • Snorkeling
