The experience that is Priscilla of Boston began in 1945 when Priscilla Kidder opened up a small bridal shop on Newbury Street in Boston, Massachusetts. The reputation of the shop grew over the years and a Priscilla of Boston gown became synonymous with luxury and style. This reputation was cemented when, in 1965, President Lydon B. Johnson's daughter, Luci, was wed in a White House ceremony. She wore a custom-designed Priscilla of Boston gown, while her bridesmaids wore pink chiffon dresses from Priscilla of Boston's bridesmaid collection. Priscilla of Boston went on to dress many more White House weddings over the next 40 years.
In 2005, Priscilla of Boston collaborated with wedding dress designer Melissa Sweet. The company now boasts 11 salons nationwide that sell gowns from Priscilla of Boston's five different wedding dress collections. Each dress is customized to the bride's preference, making a Priscilla of Boston gown a perfect fit for today's style-conscious bride.
