Bachelorette Party Invitations

How to Make Your Invitation Ideas a Reality

As the bride approaches her wedding day, the pressure of all the planning is likely to have her overwhelmed. Even looking forward to one of the biggest events of your life can be stressful.

This is where the bachelorette party comes into play. The maid of honor and the rest of the bridal party can have fun planning a special party for the bride, to celebrate her last days as a single woman and to pay honor to her upcoming marriage.

The first step in planning the perfect bachelorette party is to come up with an original idea for invitations. Making the invitations yourself is the best way to personalize them, and hand-made invitations will be more well-received than ready-made, "fill-in-the-blank" invitations. But before you head to your local scrapbooking store for the perfect invitation paper and craft supplies, consider having a theme for the party.

If you think the bride would appreciate a day of pampering, how about a spa theme, complete with a trip for all the girls to a spa to enjoy mud baths, yoga classes and massages? Or have a home-spa, with champagne, facials, manicures and ingredients to make your own scrubs and lotions. If the bride has a favorite local sports team, the group could head to a game to enjoy hot dogs, sunshine and cheering on the team. If she's the dancing type, consider a night on the town, limousine and all.

You might choose to stage the party at home with any of these themes: pool party, beach theme, backyard barbecue, 80s party --- or base the party around the bride's favorite movie or musician.

When it comes to invitations, start by collecting pictures of the bride from childhood to the present. These can be scanned into your home computer, or copied onto photo paper at a local copy shop. Use these pictures of the bride to personalize the invitation, either by cutting out the copies with scissors and gluing them individually to each invitation, or by downloading the images to the computer and printing them on the invitations.

Have fun making invitations for the bachelorette party, and remember: the more original, the better.
